midnight: geese barking
like a herd of small dogs
2 AM: train 4 AM: train
whistles and rain 6 AM:
newspapers thudding
on front porches
8 AM: sky in the west deep
& threatening; sky
in the east brilliant blueeverything gleams & sparkles
brown grass greened overnight
green river brown & fast & high
birdsong the white dog
shows me his pink tongue

sounds like you stayed awake all night...
heard it all except the dog and newspaper...
thanks for putting it into words

I especially like the first 3 lines, and the train/rain sound.

Interesting poem. Like how you use time and then ended it with color in this one.
