mEgo

my mEgo
Well, I had fun doing this the past few hours. I put the real one under the cut, as it's flash, and I know that slows loading for some folks.

I found it at TechCrunch, clicked through from curiosity, and there went the day.

After I was done, I browsed a bit through other's mEgo's, and I see that -- as usual -- I went a bit overboard. Most folks (so far) just use the provided silhouettes and backgrounds, and haven't gone to this much trouble, uploading their own photos and making collages.

Oh, what is this, you ask?

It's another shot at:

...personalized avatars that carry their online network aggregation profiles and can be integrated into users’ blogs, social networks, websites, and IM clients. The online profiles display user-picked content like profile details, videos, photos, feeds, and widgets.

So it's like a fancy profil.es, with avatars and animations.

It's for the younger set.

Heh.

You can see the real one, with animation & clickable links, below the cut.

I would actually like to put this on the sidebar, but I suspect it would cause loading problems. And minimalism is all the rage, anyway, right?
