What makes a Best Post?

Since the most popular Watermark posts -- at least according to search engines -- are cat posts, and, fond though I am of them, I don't consider cat posts to be the heart of this blog, I have to resort to methods other than counting hits.

So these are chosen on the basis of reader feedback and my own judgement. This page may have changes and additons frequently, so check back often.
