Here is Sharon Olds' bio at The Academy of American Poets.
(& I am much more particular about my line breaks than she is)

I haven't read much of Olds, but I remember her poems as full of family nudity--literally, but more importantly figuratively in the sense of unblushing emotional honesty.
I actually went to college with Sharon Olds's son. He even directed me in a play. He turned out to be quite creative and a strong actor, despite (or because of?) the things his mother wrote about him when he was a boy.
p.s.: I was Gertrude Stein, which I suppose is about as close as a man can be to a female poet.
