midnight: geese barking
like a herd of small dogs
2 AM: train 4 AM: train
whistles and rain 6 AM:
newspapers thudding
on front porches
8 AM: sky in the west deep
& threatening; sky
in the east brilliant blueeverything gleams & sparkles
brown grass greened overnight
green river brown & fast & high
birdsong the white dog
shows me his pink tongue

I especially like the first 3 lines, and the train/rain sound.

Interesting poem. Like how you use time and then ended it with color in this one.
