Now, if that's not inspiring -- or inspired -- cat art, I don't know what is. Cat rising from the sea. Indeed.
Or perhaps you prefer the Roman tradition:
Heh. One of the finer images of the goddess, I'd say.
Both of these, and many more, are at this intriguing site.
Then we have the Foreclosure Cats:
More than 60 "Foreclosure Cats," who gained public notice after being abandoned by an evicted man, have been rescued, given medical care and placed with foster families. Each cat or kitten is being tested, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. Now they're ready to share a lifetime of love and companionship with their forever families.
-- here are two of them:
That's fuzzy, by Alyssa Hemsath Mooney and frankie, by Laura Jacobsen. You can help support them (the cats, I mean) by purchasing some of the art at the Foreclosure Cats CafePress Shop.
Both of these felines in art discoveries are courtesy Prairie Mary, who -- for some unfathomable reason -- sent me the links.
And here we have an artistic rendition of Spike, made with Picnik:
For more inspiring felines, go to:
- The Carnival of the Cats at StrangeRanger
- On Sunday, the new carnival will be at Momma Grace & Company
- Weekend Cat Blogging last weekend was at Paulchen’s; this weekend you will find it at What Did You Eat?
- Bad Kitty Cats Festival of Chaos is at This, That & The Other Thing and will be at Catboys
- Friday Ark at Modulator
this is excellent. there can never be too many paintings of kitties.
